The past few weeks slipped by faster than expected, not because I was travelling. It was the usual rhythm most of us know too well: deadlines taking priority, mid-week errands suddenly becoming urgent, and days folding into each other before I even realised three weeks had passed. And in between all of that, last weekend was a different kind of busy – we had cousins visiting, so the entire weekend went into showing them around town, playing host, revisiting familiar corners as if for the first time through someone else’s eyes. Lovely, but not exactly the kind of “break” that leaves time to write.
So yes, life won this round. And honestly, I think that happens to all of us, especially to those who work full-time and still try to keep their love for travel alive.
But the silence here hasn’t been unproductive. In the background, I’ve been sketching ideas, tightening drafts, and planning what’s next for Places & Flavour. And, I’m excited about what the coming weeks are shaping up to be.
Here’s a little glimpse:
What’s Coming Up on Places & Flavour
1. Fresh Travel Edit pieces
Stories from my end; the real, behind-the-scenes parts of juggling a 9–5 and still trying to catch sunrises in the hills.
Things like:
how I plan trips on busy weeks
the small habits that keep travel alive even when I’m not travelling
what I do when burnout hits
2. Itineraries & Guides are returning
You’ll see detailed, practical guides that actually save your time:
weekend-ready routes
budget breakdowns
transport hacks
places to eat that aren’t overhyped
everything I wish someone had told me when I started travelling with limited leaves.
3. More Quick Stops Short pieces
mini travel musings, moments, inspirations designed for when you want to read something light but meaningful.
posts that remind you why you travel in the first place.
All of this is coming together slowly but surely — and I genuinely can’t wait to share it with you.
If you’ve ever felt torn between your 9–5 and your wanderlust, if you’re someone who dreams of mountains during meetings or scrolls old travel albums on stressful days, then the next few weeks on Places & Flavour might feel like they’re written for you.
So, come along on this journey with me :)
